Half Sun Salutation
Benefits:
Gentle sequence of poses that prepares the body for a longer sequence
Lengthens and strengthens the hamstrings
Lengthens and strengthens the back muscles
Lengthens and strengthens the abdominals
Strengthens the quadricep muscles
Instructions:
Begin seated or standing in Mountain Pose.
On an inhale lift the arms up alongside the ears
On an exhale begin to fold forward into your seated or standing forward bend.
On an inhale lift the spine parallel to the floor in a ½ forward bend.
On an exhale lengthen the spine back down to your seated or standing forward bend.
On an inhale begin to take the arms out to the sides and up as you lift the spine.
On an exhale lower the arms back to the sides in you seated or standing Mountain Pose.
Chair Sun Salutation

Builds strength and increases flexibility
Coordinates movement with breath
Instructions
Begin in seated Mountain Pose.
Inhale the arms alongside the ears.
Exhale as you fold over the thighs.
Inhale as you come up holding under the right knee.
Exhale forehead to knee.
Inhale lower the leg, arms alongside the ears.
Exhale fold over the thighs.
Inhale as you come up holding under the left knee.
Exhale forehead to knee.
Inhale lower the leg, arms alongside the ears.
Exhale fold over the thighs.
