Yoga Practice:

Warrior 3 Pose (Balancing Stick)

Benefits:

 

Strengthens the muscles of the entire leg

Lengthens the hamstrings

Strengthens the back and abdominal muscles

Cultivates focus and attention

Improves balance and body coordination

Instructions:

 

Begin standing in Mountain Pose.

With the hands on the hips begin to tilt the body forward as the right leg shifts back.

Keep the foot facing forward as well as the hip.

The upper body will come inline with the hips and back leg to form a T shape.

The arms can some out to the sides for balance, they can line up with the sides of the body, you can reach the arms alongside the ears to increase the intensity or keeping the hands on the hips.

To lessen the intensity you can slightly bend the standing leg knee.
