Cobra Pose

Benefits:

Strengthens muscles of the upper back

Tones the muscles that help us breathe

Instructions:

Lie on your belly with your legs extended and close together. Place your palms on the floor under your shoulders, with the elbows bent and pointed toward the ceiling. Gently pull the elbows in toward the body.On an inhale gently lift the chest and head up and forward.

At the same time press the tops of the feet down and keep them planted into the floor while the upper body lifts.

Use the press of the palms on the floor to help lift the chest while the elbows stay bent.

Breath naturally while in this small back bending pose.

To come out, exhale and release the upper body down slowly. You can stack one hand on the other and rest the forehead on the hands. Gently come to a comfortable seat.

Take note of how you feel.
