YMTP² Teacher:
Marlene Morris

Marlene discovered yoga while working at the New York City Department of Education as a Chairperson for Committee on Preschool Special Education.

She enrolled in the 200-hour Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Preparation Program (YMTP²) with the intention to deepen her own personal practice.  After just the first week of attending the class under the tutelage of Sam Chase and others, that’s when she realized that yoga had become one of the most important things in her life. She embraced the YMTP² mission to allow the children and staff of the New York City Department of Education to breath towards a healed city.

Currently, Marlene serves as an editor of the YMTP² Newsletter, is a frequent facilitator of centering exercises for professional developments, a member of YMTP² curriculum committee, and a featured teacher on the YMTP² live broadcast.  She is also currently leading weekly yoga and mindfulness classes for NYCDOE Committee on Special Education CSE6.

Her classes focus on You!  Sample one of her classes and you can expect to move, relax and breathe.
