Lauren Levine

Since graduating from the Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Preparation Program, Lauren has infused yoga & mindfulness instruction into many of her current job responsibilities within her role as a Counseling manager at the New York City Department of Education Brooklyn North Borough Office. Within this role Lauren supports the needs of school counselors and social workers across elementary and middle schools In districts 13, 14, 15, & 16 in Brooklyn. In addition to the YMTP² 200-hour certification, Lauren also holds a 95-hour certificate as children’s yoga teacher from YMTP² partner Bent on Learning.

Lauren has led ongoing meetings to support counselors and social workers and has infused mindfulness, breath practices, and yoga within each of these sessions. She has led multiple four day Mindfulness Intensives open to all school staff across Brooklyn North, has provided mindfulness overview sessions for school staff in P.S. 380 in district 14 as well as a teacher appreciation session, and has continued to teach weekly Kindergarten and 5th grade yoga and mindfulness classes at P.S. 380 in this remote environment. Lauren also teaches a weekly yoga and mindfulness session for District 13 principals. Lauren has taught two all-accessible Friday YMTP² Livestream Friday sessions and one mat-based Wednesday Livestream session. Lauren is excited to continue to hone her skills as a yoga and mindfulness teacher.
