Kendra Jackson Bio
Kendra Jackson has been a dance educator for the New York City Department of Education since 2001. She began her teaching experience in Brooklyn before finding her way to teaching dance at The Baccalaureate School for Global Education in Astoria, Queens. She went on to create their first full-time yoga program for grades 7-12. She remained there until 2017 before taking some time off to have her son. Over the course of 20 years, Kendra has earned advanced yoga teaching certification through Yoga Works and OM Yoga Center as well as an Ayurveda health counselor certification through Kripalu and the Himalayan Institute. Kendra has also taught yoga classes at NY Sports Club locations, Studios and Corporate Offices throughout NYC as well as on-location retreats.
She was also the co facilitator of The Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Preparation Program which is a yoga and mindfulness teacher training for NYC teachers and administrators. Her love of Yoga and deepening knowledge of Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, are the foundation of wellness that inspire her bring these valuable body-mind practices to her students.
Kendra is currently teaching yoga and mindfulness at East Bronx Academy for the Future and is working to create a new dance curriculum for Vertex Partnership Academies which will be opening in the Fall of 2022.
