Notes from March 25, 2021 Meeting
Agenda:
Week 2 Debrief
Successes:
Sam: cracking the code on breakout rooms. More streamline
Denise: getting into a good rhythm with our groups: learning them, getting to be vulnerable with us
Heather: affirmed and enhanced by the vulnerability, not my job to be perfect, instead my job to try things out and play with them, breakdown, I don’t know how to participate cause its different, I feel ok figuring it out
Kelitha: people getting to know them even better during classes and being transparent, didn’t know how it would work and elated that we are having the same experience virtually
Sam: this structure feels so critical, what you are doing is what I want to celebrate
Stu: hearing this is a hard commitment, this is real, preconceived that this was going to be light has been diminished, speaks to our brand of YMTPP
Leo: looking at Ex Sup signature to include YMTPP, like the academic world we are pulling together people 3x a week for transformative work, this program has given life to that
Steven: how quiet we are, not tweeting the world, we collecting people 3 days a week at 3pm we are inventing school based yoga, together we ware inventing a new school of yoga, they are budgeting for us quietly
Jami: a really good job learning from Cohort 0 organizationally, we set ourselves up for success, everything aligned and planning payed off
Stacey: as the “intern” had an idea of what would happen knew we would hit bumps, students didn’t see it, 100 people after school not getting paid speaks to work that has been done, we are building the plane and it is flying well
Sasha: thankful for all that took part in the training, being able to be seen as a leader, not the way I think and changing my thinking
Janine: how much participants want to be, encouraging people to do what they can do very accessible
Lauren: the dedication right here, all of the work to get us here on top of our “job” and take us where we need to go
Candice: seeing everyone confidence change
Jessica: developing relationships and rapport in the groups, reminds me of our cohort, just being here despite the process it took to get here
Denise: how affirming it has been to be on the other side, to co-teach with Sam, building my confidence as a yoga teacher, see myself in this role
Questions
Any way to have a document with a FAQ how to navigate and guide them
Will be discussed at Exec committee: different things daily, we are headed participation and certification are two different things, learn from this cohort, Bev, Stu, Shelly can have conversations with principals
Creating a form to streamline the process
How do you struggle with different stages of experience in finding their voice
Sam: mode I am staying is at affirm where they are at in the process, stay in place of affirmation, walk the groups through that, moving toward students identify their growing edges
Spring Yoga Sessions
If you want to offer a class go for it
Don’t have to do anything

What to focus on for Week 3
Sam mapped out some info
Want to utilize you to the fullest but do not want to put you in a place where you want to be
Co-teachers what is needed
Do you feel students need more time to prepare more time to teach back (prep time)?
Steven: would like breakout group first so teacher teaches, then go to micro groups (lengthen breakout room time)
Want co-teacher teaching more: better their teaching
Question and answer: knowledge that co-teachers brought was profound
I can’t wait to teach
Exchange between Sam and co-teacher more transparent
If synthesis is transparent we are building something
